Checkable Credentials
Gold Seal and Dual Accreditation Back Our Infant Room
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). Many Dr. Phillips parents are new to Orlando and have no local friends to ask for a referral. If that's you, credentials are a good place to start. Gold Seal status plus two accreditations give you a clear, checkable way to compare licensed providers. Here is what our infant room stands on:
- Florida Gold Seal Quality Care, awarded by the Florida Department of Children and Families. A center must hold DCF licensing before it can earn Gold Seal.
- A.P.P.L.E. Accreditation (Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment).
- N.E.C.P.A. Accreditation (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation). This review looks at how adults interact with children and how the school works with parents. Our N.E.C.P.A. accreditation is valid through April 30, 2027.
Ms. Yliana Gomez

Director Ms. Yliana Gomez brings more than 15 years of childcare experience, and she has been with our school since it opened in 2013. She holds a National Child Development Associate (CDA) credential from the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C., as well as the Florida Director Credential. She is also a member of the Children's Forum.
The Same Faces
Named Infant Teachers Know Your Baby Day After Day
Our infant room teachers stay with the babies all day, so your child is not passed between new faces. For Orlando parents placing a baby in care for the first time, consistent teachers make the adjustment easier. A baby settles faster with adults who know how they like to be held, how they fall asleep and what a fussy cry means.
You can see this in our reviews, where parents mention the same infant teachers by name again and again. Every teacher meets or exceeds Florida state credential requirements, and all staff are CPR and First Aid certified. We keep the required ratio, the number of babies each adult cares for, at all times.
A Real Daily Rhythm
Infant Feeding, Sensory Play, and Storytime Fill Each Day
Our infant program gives babies a real daily rhythm, not just a safe place to wait. Feeding is part of that routine, so bring your baby's feeding plan to your tour and go over it with the teachers.
Sensory play means safe activities that let babies touch, hear, see and explore different textures and sounds, which helps early development. Storytime gives babies words to hear and pictures to look at every day, building early language. Creative play adds simple hands-on activities that let babies reach, grab and try new things.
We also use sign language with infants. Signing gives babies another way to tell you what they need.
Each activity points toward developmental milestones, like rolling, sitting, babbling and first steps. It also supports early social-emotional learning, which is how a baby learns to feel safe, trust adults and notice other children.
Orlando summer afternoons often bring thunderstorms. When weather moves play indoors, we use our library and our "Playtown" dramatic play room.
Check In From Work
Live Cameras and App Updates Let You Check In Anytime
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips gives parents live camera access to the classroom, so you can see your baby from your phone. Many Orlando parents work at hotels, restaurants or offices and can't leave midday. The camera lets you look in during a break instead of wondering all day.
You also get real-time app updates on your baby's day and direct messaging with your child's teacher. We keep an open-door policy, so you can visit anytime during our hours, with no notice needed.
A 12-Hour Weekday
6:30 AM to 6:30 PM Hours Fit Orlando Work Shifts
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. We are closed Saturday and Sunday. Many two-career families here commute along Sand Lake Road, I-4 and International Drive, and a narrow drop-off window can make that drive stressful.
Orlando theme park and hospitality jobs often start early or end late. A breakfast shift or a dinner rush rarely lines up with a 9-to-5 daycare. Our 12-hour weekday gives you room on both ends of the day. We also offer flexible scheduling, so ask us how it fits your work pattern.
Location matters too. Our school is 2.6 miles, about 13 minutes, from Universal Studios. We are the closest day care to Universal Studios Orlando. If you work at or near the parks, that short distance can make pickup easier after a long shift.
Before you enroll, map out your real week. Check your earliest start time and your latest finish, then compare them with our hours. A center that's close to work but closes too early can still leave you scrambling.
Three Steps
Enroll Your Baby With a Tour and a Clear Next Step
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips has served Dr. Phillips families since 2013, and enrollment starts with a visit. Families from Williamsburg, Sand Lake and the Turkey Lake area can plan ahead for a baby's start date. Here is how the process works:
-
Call or book a tour. Reach us at (407) 412-6908 or drphillips@ladybirdacademy.com.
Meet the infant room teachers. See the room, watch a routine and ask your questions in person.
Complete child care enrollment. Ask our front desk any questions about the paperwork.
We accept School Readiness, which was formerly called 4C. Ask our front desk about eligibility for your family.
Care continues year-round. Planning early helps you line up a start date that matches the end of your leave.
