Preschool Transportation

Preschool Transportation in Orlando: Safe Rides and Long Days at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips

If you're looking for a preschool in Orlando, you may also need school transportation for an older child. Many Dr. Phillips parents work shifts that do not line up with school bell times. Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips offers preschool transportation in Orlando with our own bus to Palm Lake Elementary and Bay Meadows Elementary, plus a careful pickup and drop-off routine at our center. We're open weekdays from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and you can call the front desk to check if a bus seat is open. As a Gold Seal day care center, we handle the school run so your workday can start on time.

One Place, Both Ends

A Daycare with Transportation Fits Orlando's Long Workdays

Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips gives Orlando parents who work in theme parks, hotels, restaurants and offices a way to cover the hours school does not. Your shift may start before the first bell. It may end long after dismissal. Either way, there's a gap you'd otherwise have to fill with favors, rushed lunch breaks or a second sitter.

We close that gap in one place. You can drop off your child as early as 6:30 AM and pick up by 6:30 PM, and in between we take care of the ride to school and the ride back.

Work hours in this part of town often change week to week. If your shift moves around, our flexible scheduling lets your child's care move with it.

Location helps too. Our center in Dr. Phillips sits 2.6 miles (about 13 minutes) from Universal Studios, close to the International Drive work corridor. For many parents, that means drop-off is on the way to work, not a detour.

Palm Lake and Bay Meadows

Our Child Care Bus Service Runs to Palm Lake and Bay Meadows Elementary

The Ladybird Academy bus carries children between our center and two Orange County Public Schools campuses: Palm Lake Elementary and Bay Meadows Elementary. If your child attends one of these schools, our bus can cover both ends of the school day.

In the morning, you drop off at our center and your child rides our bus to school. In the afternoon, our bus picks your child up after dismissal and brings them back to the center for after school care.

We built our before and after school care around the schedules of these two schools. That focus has a tradeoff you should know before you plan. Our bus serves Palm Lake Elementary and Bay Meadows Elementary only. If your child goes to a different school, please ask the front desk about other options before you count on the bus.

When you come to pick up, staff check who is at the door. We require ID from any adult we don't know.

6:30 AM to 6:30 PM

Your Child's Day Runs from Morning Drop-Off to Evening Pickup

A full day at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips starts at 6:30 AM and ends by 6:30 PM, with one stop for every child in your family. That matters if you drive the Sand Lake Road commute and don't have time for two or three drop-offs.

At drop-off, you check in with your key fob at the door, and our doors use coded locks. School-age kids then get ready to board the bus.

Preschoolers stay with us for the day. In our Pre-K classroom, they work with the Abeka curriculum for phonics and early reading. They also do Saxon Math, a program that builds math skills in small daily steps. These lessons support kindergarten readiness, so younger siblings get ready for the same kind of school day their older brothers and sisters already have.

When school-age kids return, the afternoon includes:

  • Homework help
  • An afternoon snack from our on-site nutrition program, cooked by our own cook
  • Outdoor play on our playground with safety surfacing

Central Florida summers bring frequent afternoon thunderstorms. When storms roll in, play moves indoors to our library, our Playtown dramatic play room and our art room.

See for Yourself

Live Cameras and App Updates Keep You Informed All Day

Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips gives families live camera access, real-time app updates and direct teacher messaging throughout the day. Those tools matter most when you're new to Orlando and don't yet have friends or neighbors to vouch for a school.

Many Dr. Phillips and MetroWest families move here from the Northeast and the Midwest. If that's you, you'll want to see for yourself before you trust someone with the school run, and you can. Open the classroom web cameras during the day to look in, or send your child's teacher a message through the app. And when something concerns you, parents tell us the front desk addresses it the same day.

Three Steps, In Order

Adding Transportation to Your Child's Enrollment Starts with One Call

Enrollment in bus service at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips begins with a call to our front desk at (407) 412-6908. Families in Williamsburg and the Turkey Lake area are welcome to call as they plan for the school year.

Here are the steps, in order:

  1. Call the front desk.

Share your child’s school, age and your work schedule. We check the school first, since our bus serves Palm Lake Elementary and Bay Meadows Elementary only.

  2. Visit the center.

Stop by anytime during our hours and see our Art Studio, Science Lab, Library and Computer Lab.

  3. Prepare at home.

Walk your child through the new bus routine, step by step, and label your child’s backpack.

Kids often feel nervous about a new ride. Talking it through ahead of time can make the first morning calmer.

Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips holds Florida Gold Seal Quality Care, awarded by the Florida Department of Children and Families. We also hold A.P.P.L.E. accreditation and N.E.C.P.A. accreditation. N.E.C.P.A. reviews how adults interact with children and how a school works with parents.
